Stars Who Left Us Too Soon...

The following people were someone's idol, hero, or even inspiration. These people have contributed to the entertainment industry with their enthusiasm, success, time and energy, and most importantly, their talents. As fate turned around, they left us, leaving their legacies behind serving as inspiration, motivation for the next generation to come. These people have been and always will be our admiration, inspiration, and idols. They should never be forgotten and remain apart of the industry we are so having today.

Tupac Shakur, musician: On September 7, 1995, the 25-year-old rapper slash actor Tupac Shakur involved into a brawl with some members of the Southside Crips at the lobby of MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Later that night, while his ride was sitting at a red light, he was shot 4 fours in a drive-by shooting. He underwent multiple operations and eventually died of internal bleeding six days later. Even though the police never caught the actual assassins, there were speculations revolving rapper Biggie Smalls who's Tupac's centennial rival. All accusations were denied by Biggie and family. Biggie Smalls was murdered the following year.

The Notorious B.I.G., musician: After the Soul Train Awards in L.A., Biggie Smalls was driven-by when he was waiting on a red light in the passenger seat of his friend's car. He was announced dead early morning March 9, 1997. Again, the killer was never arrested. Rumors have that both Tupac and Smalls are still alive.

Bruce Lee, actor/martial arts master: On July 20, 1973 Bruce Lee was announced dead on arrival to the hospital. He never woke up from his nap. He was complaining of a headache during his meeting in Hong Kong when his friend Betty Ting gave him a painkiller known as Equagesic. Over the years many people have refused to believe in that theory. Some think he was killed because of an epileptic condition. Other speculations revolve around him being murdered by gangsters for not paying protection money.

John Lennon, musician: Mark David Chapman was convicted for assassinating John Lennon right outside The Dakota, John's apartment building, on December 8, 1980, when he and his family were arriving home. The odd was John was signing an autograph for the 25-year-old security guard Chapman earlier that evening. Chapman pleaded guilty the following year and is still serving his 20 years to life sentence, having been denied parole six times.

Michael Jackson, musician: On June 25, 2009, the world lost its King of Pop when Michael Jackson was announced dead just hours after being transported to UCLA Medical Centre. His autopsy reported that he was killed by a combination of anesthetic propofol and other sedative drugs. Dr. Conrad Murray, the king's personal doctor, is on trial for giving the King the lethal dose of propofol even though he insisted that the King administered the does himself

There are many other iconic figures in the entertainment industry that also left us and their priceless legacies behind such as Kurt Cobain, Heath Ledger, and Anne Nicole Smith. We shall forever remember them for their dedication, contributions, and talents.

The Wolfpack Goes to Bangkok

"The Wolfpack Is Back," says the headline of the official poster for the movie The Hangover, Part II.

STOP! At this point, if you have not seen The Hangover, part I, you need to stop reading, close this window immediately, go rent a copy for yourself, and...WATCH IT!!!

The deal for the sequel of the epic, deliriously hilarious, laugh-out-loud, ROFL (literally) The Hangover is that Stu decided to throw an "easy, relaxing" pre-wedding brunch in Bangkok, Thailand. He has gotten tired of all the wild bachelor parties and decided to take it easy before he became officially married.

Well...

....things don't always go according to plan.

They say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." But this isn't Vegas, this is Bangkok, and things seem total "lost" if the poster has not already indicated so.

Monkey on top of Phil, Alan with a shaved head, and Doug got face-tattooed?--------classic

The remaining question is: Where the f*** is Stu?

...Just 'nuff news for this week

Whats up,
So I decided to blog a little bit early this week since you know...it gets hectic towards the weekend and this and that...all kinds of distraction. So this time I determine to fight procrastination.

Now to the main things...

Overall, nothing too "major" happened in the past week. Chris Brown, sporting a new look- blonde buzz cut (I guess thats how you call it), got infuriated by abc's Good Morning America host because of the host's question regarding his violent past with former girlfriend Rihanna.

As reported, Chris Brown, after performing his hit "Yeah 3x" which is on his fresh, new album "F.A.M.E," stormed into the dressing room and started throwing and breaking things. After causing some physical damages to the room, he stormed out without a shirt.

My take on this issue is that I can see how Chris got furious by the question since it was certainly irrelevant to his presence at GMA. He was there to promote his new album so being asked a question regarding his shadowed past could have triggered his integrity. However, he should have been more mature than that. Turning angry and causing physical damages in public were just not good solutions to the given scenario. Furthermore, it also showed that the star has not learned anything at all from his past mistakes. Managing his anger and staying calm confronting the situation are things he should have portrayed so that he could tell people that, "I'm Chris Brown. I may have done stupid things in the past but I'm also human and I make mistakes. Now I have grown up and become a better person than I was." Simple as that but the star has let his anger dictate his actions, resulting in nothing good but more embarrassment and a rotten reputation.

Other than that, I do not understand how Charlie Sheen is getting praised his drug uses in the past. He should be taking his problem more seriously. Oh well, it is Hollywood. Explanations are rarely required in these kinds of things...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

yo whats good,
It always good to start with fortune.

This week Hollywood Hills LA will reveal celebrity's earnings in the past year.

Top of the list, with no surprises, is Oprah Winfrey with $315 million. Her network OWN has increased her salary significantly last year.

Second on the list is Michael Jackson's estate, which took in $275 million, despite the King's death.

Following the King of Pop and ranked third on the list is, surprisingly enough, legendary rock band AC/DC with $100 million.

Next place belongs to the richest couple in Hollywood with combined salary of just about $150 million- Jay-Z and Beyonce. Beyonce earned $87 million her own while her husband pocketed $63 million.

Ellen DeGeneres pulled in $55 million whereas Ryan Seacrest claimed a spot above businessman Donald Trumpt with $51 million while the business magnate/social took in $50 mil.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards Winners

Yo,
So, the Oscars were somewhat a disappointment, at least for me. First off, please get a professional host next time. What the hell? What were James Franco and Anne Hatheway doing on stage that night? Were they trying to be funny? Not sure. Were they trying to have a conversation while tweeting while presenting the awards? Was James high off his face the whole time? I don't know. Nobody knows. All we know is that the hosts did not do a very good job. See as much as I love the two talented actors, I don't think their humor is appropriate for the show, not the very least. I have to say, however, that the opening clip was hilarious though. It was creative and satirical. haha.

The second biggest disappointment was that the Oscar for Best Picture went to "The King's Speech." C'mon now. I know it may be meaningful and well-written and all that crap. But doesn't stuff like this bore you out? I mean let's stir it up a little. Let The Social Network win. Something new, innovative, and up-to-date if you will. I mean I can care less about who wins because we always know that runner-ups are usually stuff that people like to talk about. Or Toy Story 3, that was phenomenon as well. Oh well. I guess Hollywood is just too "serious."

Alright whatever, I'm going to list the main winners of the night:

Best Picture:
The King's Speech

Best Actor:
Colin Firth in The King's Speech

Best Actress:
Natalie Portman in Black Swan

Actress in a Supporting Role:
Melissa Leo in The Fighter

Actor in a Supporting Role:
Christian Bale in The Fighter

Director:
Tom Hooper- The King's Speech

Original Screenplay:
David Seidler- The King's Speech

Adapted Screenplay:
Aaron Sorkin- The Social Network

Roles Actors Assumed Before They Became Oscar Nominees

Everyone,

Just a reminder we're counting down to Oscar 2011 and it's officially 53 hours away (do the math not so sure). Check one of my previous posts for details about Oscar nominees. Also, try to watch all the nominated movies before hence so you at least have an idea who deserve and deserve not to win. I'm really excited for this!

Anyways, I came across a video on Yahoo! today about roles that actors and actresses assumed before they became Hollywood stars. Check them out. You might be surprised.

Hailee Steinfield: Before she was nominated as a supporting actress for her role Mattie Ross in "True Grit" she did a commercial for Kmart as a schoolgirl.

Natalie Portman: Before she was Queen Amidala in Star Wars I: Phantom of Menace she was cast in a young assassin in The Professional at the age of 12 and she also appeared in Ted Demme's "Beautiful Girls" (1996) as Marty.

Jesse Eisenberg: Surprisingly enough, Jesse's character in "Roger Dodger" (2002) is very similar to his character in "The Social Network" (2010)

Christian Bale: This guy is one of my favorite actors. At the age of 13, he appeared in world-renowned director Steven Spielberg's "Empire of the Sun" as a young boy named Jim 'Jamie' Graham.

Jeff Bridges: Before he starred in "The Big Lebowski" and most recently "True Grit" (2010) he was acting in a TV series known as "Sea Hunt."

James Franco: James starred in 1999 "Never Been Kissed" before he was nominated Best Actor for his role in "127 Hours."

Out of this list, I think Natalie Portman and Christian Bale are two naturally gifted actors. They have been trained and experiencing different roles to nurture their career. They are now major stars in Hollywood. That is, however, the rest is just as talented. I am just being slightly biased because their movies really impressed me.

Lastly, the 2011 Oscar will be aired LIVE on abc Sunday February 27th at 8pm Eastern Time (5pm Pacific Time)

Grammy 2011 Winners

Whats upp this post is a recap of the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards which took place on the 13th February 2011.

Heads up everyone. Following are my personal comments on the night:

Eminem is hands down the best performer in the rap music category. Lady Antebellum is overrated and did not deserve to win that many awards. F*ck off Justin Bieber, you can't sing, go grow out of puberty first you turd. Drake should've won Best New Artist instead of Esperanza Spalding. Rihanna does not look too sexy as a red head. With that being said, however, I would. Katy Perry, goddamn, should have performed her song "Firework," it would've made a better crowd than her first song. The song otherwise known as "Forget You"...are you serious now? PLease.

Now I'm gonna list top ten awards of the night. Yeah I know there are some awards that nobody really cares about and artists that no one ever heard of. Well they just had to include them because thats part of the business.

1. Record of the Year
"Need You Know"- Lady Antebellum

2. Album of the Year
"The Suburbs"-Arcade Fire

3. Song of the Year
"Need You Know"- Lady Antebellum

4. Rock album:
"The Resistance" - Muse
5. Rap album:
"Recovery" - Eminem
6. Female pop vocal performance:
"Bad Romance" – Lady Gaga
7. Male pop vocal performance:
"Just The Way You Are" – Bruno Mars
8. Male R&B vocal performance:
"There Goes My Baby" – Usher
9. Rap solo performance:
"Not Afraid" – Eminem
10. Rap performance by a duo or group:
"On To The Next One" – Jay-Z & Swizz Beatz
11. Rap/sung collaboration:
"Empire State Of Mind" – Jay-Z & Alicia Keys
Yeah there are 11 of them on a list of 10. Well they all deserve to be on my biased list. Peace.

The Psychology Behind American Psycho: a controversial ending

Everyone,
This post is probably going to be one of my favorite posts of all time. American Psycho (2000) is the adaptation of the novel of the same title written by Bret Easton Ellis. The movie was authentically as well as appropriately directed by two women directors Ms. Turner and Ms. Harron.

Let's skip the facts about the movie and focus on the utmost controversial part of the movie itself: the ending.

So, let me see. Patrick Bateman, a Harvard graduate who appears to be a successful businessman who could not define himself and always sees himself struggling to fit in with the world of which he chooses to be apart, ends up realizing that killing people is probably the only thing that makes him different from the people he works with. Through out the movie we observe that Bateman murders more than 20 people, some of them are prostitutes and mostly are people who have no emotional relationship with him. We also see that Bateman takes pleasure in killing these people since his lifestyle is ironically tasteless. However, the ending of the movie leaves the audience questioning if Patrick Bateman actually commits all the murders or it's just a psychological process inside Patrick's mind.

The following clip is, in my opinion, the best scene in the movie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwicLgOGJOI

The ending opens up two distinctive interpretations. The first one is Patrick Bateman plans all of the murders in his head, but is too much of a coward to actually commit them. The second one is he carries out all the killings, but when he confesses, his lawyer refuses to believe him and that leaves his confession meaningless.

So, which one do you find more plausible?

Drama Queens

Hello everyone,

Currently there are so many drama queens stirring up the winter atmosphere with their pathetic dramatic lives on the Hills. The bottom line is I don't care I just get annoyed when I encounter headlines such as Charlie Sheen checking into rehab or something about Lindsey Lohan's theft case at some jewelry store and such. It actually bores me out. I'd like to discuss or hear discussions about something more sophisticated and professional in Hollywood, not these scandalous lives. These people have determined how their images are to be perceived by the public so another discussion about what they do wrong is just abundant. And not to mention these headlines draw more attention to these morally-corrupted celebs. And please don't give me that bullshit about how there's nothing sophisticated and professional in the Hollywood World. If you firmly believe that there's nothing worth attention or discussing other than these rumor mills you have not fully comprehended the entire Hollywood spectrum. There's more to it so hang in there.

2011 Oscar

Welcome ladies and gentlemen,
This year's big event for movies, actors/actresses, and directors will be aired on ABC on February 27th at 8 P.M. ET. The Red Carpet will take place a wee bit earlier which will be aired at 6:30 P.M. ET on the same day. That will be Sunday so unless you're out taking over the world I don't see why you should miss this.
Now, the vital information....this year's nominations!!!

I am not going to list every nomination in every category because that is horrendously extensive. Rather, I'll list the most talk-about and expected nominations.

First off and of course, we have nominations for Best Picture:

1. Black Swan with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis directed by Darren Aronofsky

2. The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale directed by David O. Russell

3. Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt directed by Christopher Nolan

4. The Kids Are All Right with Annette Benning, Julian Moore, and Mark Ruffalo directed by Lisa Cholodenko

5. The King's Speech with Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, and Derek Jacobi directed by Tom Hooper

6. 127 Hours with James Franco directed by Danny Boyle

7. The Social Network with Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield directed by David Fincher

8. Toy Story 3 with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack directed by Lee Unkrich

9. True Grit with Jeff Bridges, Hailee Steinfeld, and Matt Damon directed by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen

10. Winter's Bone with Jennifer Lawrence, Shelly Waggener, and Garret Dillahunt directed by Debra Granik

So far I have not seen all of the movies yet. I have seen some but not all so it's going to be hard for me to make any predictions. However, I have the feeling The Social Network will claim a lot prizes because it already did at the Golden Globe Awards so it could be a potential. The other potentials are Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right as I have seen a descend load of good critics for them.
Well, this is open interpretations and predictions. Please feel free to let me know what movie you think deserves the award or what movie that you would like to see win.

Latest News behind the Silver Screens

Whatsss uppp World!!!
Hollywood, CA is an amazing, flashy, and indeed expensive place. It is home to the legendary Universal Studios where blockbuster and humongous budget movies are shot.
This blog will keep you informed about everything, and I mean, literally, almost everything that is going on  in the world of Hollywood. Check it out!

Not to be confused with some pop-culture blogs or mags, this blog sometimes goes in depth about the plot of a particular movie, discusses openly about a dialogue/conversation in a scene, and even analyzes specific characters that are considered controversial or intricated.
There will be news about celebrities, the Academy Awards, renowned artists, artists that suck but still rise to fame and who knows why, pregnant actresses, marriages that shouldnt have taken place, cars, movie stars, actors and actresses, actors and actresses who dont know how to act but still stand in front of the camera looking pretty (or naked), and etc since we should not list too many things and should just substitute the unimportant things that should not be listed anyways with "etc."
